Harrison's Loop Knot
Once a typical fishing knot is created, it becomes widely used. When its shortcomings are discovered, people begin to continuously experiment with new tools and materials, along with various improvements.
This Harrison knot is an improvement on the Homer Rhodes Loop, designed to allow thinner lines to be used in lure fishing and saltwater fly fishing. Like the Duncan knot, although both are "shake-head knots," the knot won't come undone, and the loop won't shrink, no matter how large the fish is.
First, tie a loose single knot at the end of the line. Pass the end through the nose loop and fold it back, then pass it through the first loop. Up to this point, it's the same as the Homer Rhodes Loop. However, next, wrap the line end around the main line 4-5 times, fold it back, and pass it through the loop you made earlier.
Pull the line end that has passed through the loop and the main line, allowing the knot to slowly form. Once it's tightened to a certain extent, then tighten the lure and the main line.
