基本繩結 - 英國人結 (Englishman's Knot)


Englishman's Knot直譯的話，就是「英國人結」。這是英國船員停泊船隻時常用的繩結，故而以此為名。日文則稱為「雙重鬆脫結」，也就是先在繩子的前端打個鬆脫結，再加個防脫結以固定繩圈。

這個結並非像雙重防脫結或雙重8字結一樣，一開始就做出繩圈再把線穿出其中，而是在穿梭的過程中形成繩圈，最大的優點是在繩圈成形後，還可以稍微調整圓圈的大小。所以，如果想要縮小繩圈大小的時候，常用這個結。而且，就算幾乎在沒有伸縮空間的情況下也可以把繩子綁在地樁或柱子。可說是範圍相當廣泛的繩結。

不過，雖然這個繩結名為雙重鬆脫結，值得注意的是一旦綁緊卻很難解開。如果真的一點伸縮的空間都沒有，那麼要解開可就得花上一番功夫了。


The Englishman's Knot, literally translated, is the knot commonly used by British sailors when mooring their ships, hence its name. In Japanese, it's called the "Double Loose Knot," which involves tying a loose knot at the beginning of the rope, followed by a catch knot to secure the loop.

Unlike the Double Catch Knot or Double Figure-Eight Knot, where the loop is formed initially and the line is threaded through it, the loop is formed during the weaving process. Its biggest advantage is that the size of the loop can be slightly adjusted after it's formed. Therefore, this knot is often used when you want to reduce the size of the loop. Furthermore, it can be used to tie a rope to a stake or post even with almost no room for flexibility. It's a very versatile knot.

However, although it's called the Double Loose Knot, it's worth noting that once tightened, it's very difficult to untie. If there's absolutely no room for flexibility, untying it can take considerable effort.
