在釣魚的繩結中，Surgeon's Knot，也就是所謂的「外科醫生結」。所謂的釣魚繩結，應該都稱得上是既簡單又堅固的優良繩結，而此結正是其中的代表之一。如果要連結兩條粗細差不多的尼龍線或碳纖線，這個繩結無疑是最佳選擇。即使材質不同打起來也不會發生什麼問題。

海上的上物釣時，它常用來直結母線和釣鉤；飛繩釣法中，也常用來增加子線的長度。另外，因為打法簡單，連結大量的枝線時，也會派上用場。

打外科醫生結的時候，一定要讓某一邊的繩尾穿過繩圈好幾次，要連結兩條很長的繩子雖然不容易，但只要技巧熟練後就變得很簡單了。穿過繩圈的時候，不要分次抽出繩尾，而是如圖所示的把繩子在繩圈的頂點纏繞幾圈後，再把繩尾抽出來，這樣只要一道手續就完成了。

另外，用這個結綁子線時，要多預留一點子線的長度，這樣等到結打好了，要和釣鉤相連的時候就很方便。

Among fishing knots, the Surgeon's Knot is a prime example of a simple yet strong knot. It's an excellent choice for connecting two nylon or carbon fiber lines of similar thickness, and it works well even with different materials.

In top-fishing at sea, it's often used to tie the main line and hook together; in fly fishing, it's frequently used to lengthen the leader. Its simplicity also makes it useful for connecting numerous branches.

When tying a surgeon's knot, make sure to pass one end of the line through the loop several times. Connecting two long lines isn't easy, but it becomes simple with practice. When passing the line through the loop, don't pull the end out in stages; instead, wrap the line around the apex of the loop several times as shown in the diagram, then pull the end out. This completes the process in one step.

In addition, when using this knot to tie the leader, leave a little extra length of leader so that it will be convenient to connect it to the fishing hook after the knot is tied.
