抱緊結可說是最適合用來連接路亞和連結環的繩結。理由是簡單迅速，而且強度也夠。事實上，在各種連接金屬配件和釣線的方法之中，最為被廣泛使用的就是抱緊結。

不論什麼樣的繩結，都會隨著時代的變遷進行各種改良。材質的變化有時候也是促成改良的動力。例如尼龍等材質因為表面容易鬆滑，所以對繩結必須要求高度的穩定性。在此介紹摩擦後數更高、不容易斷裂也不易鬆開的改良型抱緊結。

最初介紹的繩結，重點在於讓線的前端穿過轉環2次。然後只要把線纏在本線上幾次，讓前端穿過繩圈就完成了。不過，如果把線反折變成兩條再打，繩結會更加牢固。

另外一種打法其實和抱緊結一模一樣。只是把線折成兩條再打。其實線折成兩條再打的作法，在很多場合都可以派上用場。
