一聽到Nail這個英文單字，每個人最先想到的都是指甲，但這裡的Nail代表的意思是釘子。因為以往打指甲結的時候會用到釘子。不過現在已經可以在巿面上買到專用的管子，可以更快速的打好繩結。

指甲結在飛繩釣法中，除了用來連接預備線和重量線，也可以用來連結重量線和子線。

至於指甲結專用的管子，因為巿面上銷售的款式極多，選擇使用順手的管子固然重要，但如果面臨人在釣場非打不可等緊急狀況時，也可以把用完的原子筆芯剪成3公分左右的長度使用。讓線的前端通過管子，接下來只要把管子抽出就能打出漂亮的繩結。

指甲結也適合連結材質不同的繩子，而且強度很可靠。因為不論什麼樣的材質都難不倒它，除了飛繩釣以外，磯釣的線檔也可以看到它的蹤影。

Thread the end of the line through the tube, then simply pull it out to tie a neat knot.

Nail knots are also suitable for connecting ropes of different materials and are very reliable in terms of strength. Because they can handle almost any material, they are not only used in fly fishing but also in rock fishing line supports.
